The sound of surf street.

When it comes to versatile recording artist and singer-songwriter Marc Oliver, expect the unexpected. He's been taking the music industry by storm over the past 25 years with no end in sight. One could describe the San Diego-based artist's sound as r&b and alternative meets rock and pop. He attributes his dynamic sound to the area that raised him.

The songwriter, musician, and producer began practicing piano after his mother invested in piano lessons when he was three years old. It wasn't until a party when he was sixteen that a young Marc Oliver found his calling. When asked to play the piano, it only took seconds for a crowd of teenagers to huddle around the piano."The way it made me feel, to see smiles and happiness instantly, in the middle of a high school party, where clicks run rampant, it stopped, and everyone just stood there, listened, and nodded along. It was amazing," Oliver recalls.

After signing his first record deal two years out of high school, he moved to LA and began a journey that shows no signs of stopping. His first album was produced by The Matrix, one of the world's top production companies. During this time, another artist was also recording her first album with The Matrix, Avril Lavigne.

Marc and Avril shared a studio together and started dating while creating both of their first albums. "We had a great time together. We were creating all over the place. I would go skate around LA with her, and we just chilled. We had a blast," said Oliver. Perhaps he was the "Sk8ter Boi" we've heard tons about. After both artists released their albums and began touring separately, they slowly drifted apart.

Marc Oliver went on to tour the world playing various festivals and sharing the stage with some of the industry's biggest names like Jewel, Pat Benetar, and John Legend. More recently, Marc Oliver released his new single, "OUTLAW," and an accompanying music video. He's currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on his debut album, set to release later this summer.
